The long wait for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is almost over. Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that the next chapter in its blockbuster open-world franchise will be released on May 26, 2026. The game will first arrive on PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro, PS5 Slim, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, while a PC version may come later.
GTA 6 Storyline
For the first time in the franchise’s history, GTA 6 will feature a female lead character alongside a male protagonist. The story follows a Bonnie-and-Clyde-style crime duo, Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval navigating life in Vice City, a fictional world inspired by Miami, within the state of Leonida (loosely based on Florida).
The storyline will also stretch beyond Vice City, possibly including regions like Leonida Keys, Grasslands, Port Gelhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga.
Rockstar has hinted that GTA 6 will be its longest-ever title, with a campaign lasting up to 75 hours. The game is also expected to satirize modern American culture, poking fun at social media, influencer lifestyles, and today’s digital obsessions.

- Dre’quan Priest: A hustler with dreams of making it big in music. Eventually signs a record deal.
- Real Dimez (Bae-Luxe & Roxy): Two influencers-turned-rappers with a strong online following.
- Raul Bautista: A daring bank robber who recruits others for high-risk heists.
- Brian Header: A drug runner in the Keys, seen in the trailer, likely to give Jason smuggling missions.
Interestingly, Lucia’s past in Liberty City hints that Rockstar could revisit iconic locations from earlier GTA games.
GTA 6 Price (Global & India)
While Rockstar Games’ parent company Take-Two Interactive hasn’t confirmed the official price yet, CEO Strauss Zelnick told Variety that the goal is always to deliver “more value than what we charge.”
Analysts expect GTA 6 to launch at a premium:
- Globally, the base price could be $80–$100 (₹6,500 – ₹8,300 approx.)
- In India, leaks suggest it may start at around ₹5,999 though this is still speculation.
As with previous Rockstar titles, we can expect multiple editions (Standard, Deluxe, Collector’s) with varying content and pricing.
